Wenzel Makes History, Wedelstadt, Anschutz, Dorner, Geyer, and Schlafke Among Winners

by Joe Orsini

There was fun to be had for race fans of all ages at the Floors by Josh Championship Night at The Hill Raceway. With championships still up for grabs 77 cars across 5 divisions rolled into the pits to close out the 2025 points season in style. Thanks to the efforts of the track’s drivers there were 33 bikes to be given away at intermission to the children 12 and under in attendance and the event was an overwhelming success.

The Bayside Dock Company Modified feature saw Clint Parsons pace the opening 5 circuits before yielding the lead to Mike Wedelstadt on lap 6. Wedelstadt never looked back and led the rest of the way. Kyle Kudick was able to grab second, Parsons held on for third, and “The Frogstation Flash” Dan Ratajczak was fourth.

The Kroll Machine and Fabrication Stock Car main event opened with Josh Tuttle taking advantage of the P1 starting spot to lead the first lap. “The Bulldozer” Dave Bouche wrestled away the top spot on lap two before Eddie “The Eagle” Anschutz soared to the high side on lap 4 to steal the lead. Caution flew with seven laps complete as Anschutz continued to hold court over Bouche, Jeremy Anschutz, Caden Lemieux, and Tuttle. When the event returned to racing speeds Lemieux kept his title hopes alive by quickly moving into the runner up spot and tried to pressure Anschutz for the lead. When the checkers flew it was Anschutz holding on for the win in just his sixth career start in the Stock Car division after moving up from the Street Stocks. Lemieux did his best to overcome a seven marker deficit in the points battle but was only able to gain one point over eventual champion and third place finisher, Brett Wenzel. Jeremy Anschutz was fourth, and Troy Muench completed the top five. Wenzel was crowned the division champ for the sixth consecutive season and set the record for most consecutive division titles at the track. Ford Malvitz was the division’s rookie of the year after moving up from the Street Stock division.

The T. Simon Jewelers Northern Sport Mod feature event saw Geno Sternard lead the first lap but chaos ensued after that opening lap as the event was stopped under a red flag when Rick Lemieux hit the outside wall on the backstretch and Brandon Kaye got caught up in the aftermath. When the race resumed point leader, Craig Dorner, grabbed the lead and never looked back. With the win Dorner secured his third consecutive championship. Randy Lemieux Jr. finished the race in second, Brayden Lemieux was third, George Henkel fourth, and “The Iron Man” Bernie Reinhardt completed the top five. Collin Massart took home rookie of the year honors.

The Millies Pub and Grub Unified Dirt Street Stock main event started with Parker Derks grabbing the lead at the drop of the green. By the time the halfway mark was reached Derks continued atop the leader board with Matt “The Brat” Hanson running second, “The Muscles From Brussels” Garrett Geyer in third, point leader Dave “The Hammer” DeGrave in fourth, and Bailey Laviolet fifth. Derks continued to lead until Geyer found an opening on the inside to slide into the lead on lap 14. DeGrave followed suit into second and pressured Geyer for the lead. When the dust settled it was Geyer grabbing the win, DeGrave settled for second but won the war while losing the battle as he locked up the points crown, Hanson was third, Laviolette fourth, and Travis Zirbel completed an impressive run after having to win a last chance qualifying race just to make the feature. It was DeGrave’s fourth Street Stock Championship to go along with a solo Hobby Stock Championship. Landon Anderson capped off a successful season with rookie of the year honors for the division.

The Dykesville Bowl 4 Cylinder A-main saw third place points runner, Scott Schlafke, grab the lead right off the bat. Schlafke came into the night two points behind Chase Ertel in the title fight and one point behind Dallas Topel in second. Schlafke did all he could but came up just short in his bid for a third consecutive championship. Schlafke won the night but Ertel finished right behind the multi time champ to record his first career title at the track. Nathan Bowers finished third, Bo White was fourth, and Topel rounded out the top five.
