77 cars rolled into the pits Saturday night at John Miles Park in Sturgeon Bay. Each modern day gladiator set to do battle against each other, the track, and even Mother Nature. Therma-Tron-X night at the races featured some extra cash on the line, an extra $50 cash went to each heat race winner courtesy of The Gnoshery in Sturgeon Bay and a $100 hard charger award in the Modifieds and $50 hard charger award in all other divisions courtesy of Galloping Ghost Motorsports.
The Modifieds brought their own brand of thunder to The Hill Raceway with their first appearance of the season. Jeff Bodendorfer jumped to the early lead while Jayden Schmidt worked from 5th on the starting grid to 2nd by lap 9. Lap 10 saw Schmidt slice his 24 machine to the inside of Bodendorfer for the lead. Schmidt went unchallenged over the remainder of the event and captured the feature win. Bodendorfer held on for 2nd, The Frogstation Flash, Dan Ratajczak, 3rd, Chris Pigeon 4th, and Clint Parsons completed the top 5. Schmidt also picked up the hard charger award.
The Kroll Machine and Fabrication Stock Car main event saw Bill Lemieux grab the lead at the drop of the green but an early caution with one completed lap reset the deck. Troy Muench took advantage of the restart to grab the lead and looked to set sail for a clean victory. While Muench was walking away Shanon Guelette used the inside line to take 3rd on lap 5 and stayed on the inside to nip past David Reinhardt to 2nd on lap 9. While Guelette cut through the field Muench opened up a comfortable lead until disaster struck on lap 13 as Muench’s 52 machine lost its driveshaft heading into turn 2. Guelette passed by into the lead as the yellow flew. Guelette survived a late race restart and captured the checkers, Brett Wenzel came home 2nd, Dan Sell Jr. was 3rd, Reinhardt 4th, and Larry Karcz Jr, rounded out the top 5. Brett Wenzel also secured the hard charger award after starting 16th.
Scott Howe led the opening lap of the T. Simon Jewelers Sport Mod A main event while The Ironman, Bernie Reinhardt, worked into second by lap 3. Three laps later Reinhardt ran the high side to perfection as he raced around Howe into the lead. Reinhardt survived multiple restarts and iced away his first win of the 2025 season. Brayden Lemieux used a late race restart to lock up 2nd, Craig Dorner was 3rd, Mike Plate Sr. 4th, and Howe hung on for 5th. Plate also nabbed the hard charger award after starting 14th. Plate suffered heavy left front damage in his heat race but thanks to help and hard work from his fellow racers in the pits was able to make a furious charge from the back in the feature.
The Millies Pub and Grub Unified Dirt Street Stock main event started the night’s features with Tyler Fox pacing the early laps until caution slowed the event on lap 3. The Hammer, Dave DeGrave, used the ensuing restart to steal away 2nd from The Muscles From Brussels, Garrett Geyer. Lap 7 saw DeGrave utilize the high side to slide by Fox into the lead, two laps later Geyer ran inside Fox to 2nd. Geyer stayed on the lower line and snuck his nose inside DeGrave and the pair ran side by side until Geyer completed the pass on lap 15, Geyer was unpressured over the final five circuits and captured the win. DeGrave settled for a hard fought 2nd, Fox was 3rd, Racin’ Jason Geyer 4th, and Bailey Laviolet closed out the top 5. Jason Geyer came from 9th on the starting grid to grab the hard charger award.
The Dykesville Bowl 4 Cylinder A-main closed out TTX Night at the Races with their feature event. Scott Schlafke rocketed to the lead at the start but Adam Broehm quickly moved outside Dallas Topel to grab 2nd and set about running the leader down. Trouble struck Broehm though as his steel stallion gave up the ghost on lap 9 and retired from the event while still running 2nd and closing on Schlafke. Schlafke went on to win, Brian Watzka Jr was 2nd, Topel 3rd, Missy Clark 4th, and Nathan Bowers was 5th. Watzka was the hard charger after rolling out of the line up chute 9th.
The Hill Raceway is back in action Saturday, June 28th, featuring the Street Stock Busch Shootout after the main events. Racing kicks off at 6:00 PM and adult grandstand admission remains an inflation busting ten dollars!
