69 cars across 5 divisions signed in to battle for trophies, prize money, bragging rights, and beer at Saturday’s races at John Miles Park. The Milwaukee Stock Car Racing Association Vintage Mods joined the weekly divisions and the night was capped off with the Unified Dirt Street Stock Busch Shootout courtesy of Flanigan Distributing.

The Kroll Machine and Fabrication Stock Car main event opened with Scott Reinhardt taking advantage of the pole position to lead the first lap. Billy Lemieux worked to 2nd and Troy Muench to 3rd on lap 2 but the race was slowed just after that as the yellow flag came out. Muench utilized the restart to wrestle 2nd away from Lemieux and began his dogged pursuit of Reinhardt. Muench pressured Reinhardt for multiple laps while the rest of the field traded spots 3 through 10 back and forth with positions changing with every corner. On lap 17 Muench put his 52 machine to the outside of Reinhardt and was able to secure the lead coming out of turn 4. Muench paced the closing circuits and held on for the win two weeks after suffering heartbreak when a mechanical failure forced him to retire while leading. Reinhardt held on for 2nd, David Reinhardt 3rd, Zach Spangenberg 4th, and Caden Lemieux was 5th.

Geno Sternard set the tone early in the T. Simon Jewelers Sport Mod A main event while Brad Miller quickly moved to 2nd. Sternard’s lead evaporated in the summer heat as The Ironman, Bernie Reinhardt, looked to make it two feature wins in a row as he muscled into the lead. Point leader, Craig Dorner, spoiled Reinhardt’s attempt at a repeat by stealing away the top spot. Once on point Dorner tried to open up a lead but multiple cautions marred the event and never allowed Dorner to gain a large advantage on the field. Dorner was able to survive the numerous restarts and held on to capture the win. Reinhardt finished 2nd. Sternard had a strong 3rd place run, Randy Lemieux Jr. was 4th, and Gary Henkel rounded out the top 5.

The Millies Pub and Grub Unified Dirt Street Stock main event started with Dave Hoerning leading the opening lap and tried to run away from the field. Caution on lap 3 foiled that attempt as the field bunched behind the leader with Ben McCoy running 2nd, Kevin Luedtke 3rd, Dave The Hammer DeGrave 4th, and Matt Hanson 5th for the restart. By the halfway mark DeGrave had positioned his 40D machine right on the back bumper of Hoerning. The pair set to a furious fight for the top spot with DeGrave eventually claiming it on lap 15. DeGrave held on the final laps and grabbed the feature win. Hoerning settled for 2nd, Luedtke 3rd, McCoy 4th, and Tyler Fox was 5th. The Hammer wasn’t done visiting the Quietwoods RV victory lane as DeGrave returned at the end of the night to claim the 180 Busch Lights by winning his 5th Busch Shootout.

The Dykesville Bowl 4 Cylinder A-main Saw Scott Schlafke hold off opening night winner, Chase Ertel, to grab his second win of the season.

Jeff Allard led the opening lap of the Vintage Modified feature event. Jeff Allard, Jeremy Allard, and Darrin Allard made it a family affair as the trio walked away from the rest of the field and duked it out for the win. Darrin Allard sliced into the lead on lap 6 and never looked back as he cruised to victory. Jeff Allard was 2nd, Jeremy Allard 3rd, Brian “Butcher” Titel 4th, and Jim Straseski was 5th.

The Hill Raceway is back in action Saturday, July 19th, with Hall of Fame Night featuring the Northern Sport Mod Busch Shootout after the main events. Racing kicks off at 6:00 PM and adult grandstand admission remains an inflation busting ten dollars!
