Blackhurst, Wilke, and LeMieux Close Out Hill Season With Checkers
by
The Hill Raceway turned the page on August and the 2025 season with a Sunday night sprint car spectacular. The Bumper to Bumper IRA 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars were the feature attraction on the final night of racing in Door County for 2025. Also running were the Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints and the T. Simon Jewelers Northern Sport Mods were also on hand to fight for a $1000 top prize.
The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car feature saw Jake Blackhurst grab the lead at the drop of the green. Max Guilford slid into the runner up spot and looked to pressure the leader but Guilford succumbed to a shredded left rear tire and fell from contention. Blackhurst was able to lead every lap on the way to a dominant win. Jordan Goldesberry was second, Jake Neuman third, Thomas Schinderle fourth, and Danny Schlafer capped off the top five after setting quick time and a new overall track record with a 12.097 second qualifying lap. The Wisconsin WingLESS Sprint car feature kicked off with Eric Wilke shooting to the front of the field on the opening lap. Rusty Egan worked by Adam Taylor for second on lap five but Taylor snuck back into the runner up spot on lap ten. Neither Taylor or Egan were able to challenge Wilke for the lead and when the checkers flew it was Wilke standing alone in victory lane. Taylor settled for second, Egan third, Greg Alt was fourth, and Tyler Kuxhouse rounded out the top five. The T. Simon Jewelers Northern Sport Mod feature event had Bret Widdis pace the opening circuits before yielding the lead to 2025 points champ, Craig Dorner, on lap three. Randy LeMieux Jr. quickly took away second from Widdis and looked to track down the leader. Lap nine saw LeMieux find an opening on the bottom side and wrestled away the top spot. LeMieux was able to fend off the pack over the final laps and secured the hefty $1000 payday. Dorner came home second, Mitchell Fairbank was third, “Budzo” Chris Budzban marked his return to The Hill with a strong fourth, and Widdis held on for fifth.
The Hill Raceway would like to thank all our drivers, their crews, our fans, all the 2025 sponsors, and all the dedicated workers that put in countless hours into making the season a success. A race season could not be pulled off without each and every one of those people doing their part to keep the fire of racing burning bright in Door County. So a very sincere thank you to everyone that had a part, whether big or small, in making the season happen. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2026.
The next event for The Hill Raceway will be our awards banquet tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 6th. Full details will be made available soon.
